Becoming More Confident in the Classroom
The more time I spend working with students, the more confident I feel in my role. I am learning to trust myself, trust my decisions, and step into the classroom with more intention each day. Every experience is helping me grow into the kind of teacher I want to be.

Small Wins Matter
Milestone
I have learned that not every success in the classroom is huge. Sometimes it’s a student participating more, trying again after struggling, or showing a little more confidence than the day before. Those small wins matter.

Being Flexable And Learning How To Pivot
Milestone
Starting my first substitute teaching job was both exciting and a little overwhelming. Walking into a classroom that isn’t “yours” and still being expected to lead, manage, and support students really pushed me out of my comfort zone.
One of the biggest things I learned right away is how important classroom management and clear expectations are. Even small things like transitions, directions, and routines make a huge difference in how the day flows. I had to think on my feet, stay flexible, and adjust throughout the day depending on what students needed.
At the same time, I realized how important it is to build quick connections with students. Even in a short amount of time, taking a moment to listen, encourage, and support them can completely change the tone of the classroom.
This experience helped me grow in confidence and reminded me that teaching is not about having everything perfect. It’s about being present, adaptable, and willing to learn alongside your students.
I’m excited to continue gaining experience, improving my classroom management, and growing into the teacher I am working toward becoming.
